Project.

When the Aegean Collection, 32 olive oil cooperatives came to Salt, we were excited. The North and South Aegean region is home to a unique olive species. Our goal was to brand the region and the species by highlighting the beauty and qualities that collectively form the cooperative.

Sketches.

During the design of the label, we were tasked with combining 32 different products and 32 separate cooperatives. We were inspired by the wind, sun and geography that give a unique flavor to the olive and olive oil of each region and cooperatives. Various sketches were designed to reflect the characteristics of each region.

Concept.

After many design attempts and multiple discussions, we decided to use a map. We made several renditions of the map as shown.

Delicacies.

Using topographic maps we were able to illustrate the different characteristics of the Aegean Region by giving each of the 32 cooperatives a different design and bottle. Each cooperative was highlighted for its unique olive oil flavor. The Aegean Collection broke new grounds.

Conclusion.

o better reflect the characteristics of the North and South Aegean regions in our designs, we used the symbol of abundance and fertility and the color brown to represent the soil in the North Aegean region, and the symbol of life and viridity and the color of the sun in the South Aegean region.

Tariş Ege Collection label designs were awarded the Gold Award in the Graphic Design Category in the 7th Packaging Ayyıldızları Contest organized by the Packaging Manufacturers Association (ASD).

AWARD FOR PACKAGING EXCELLENCE

These designs were also deemed worthy of excellence in the competition organized by the World Packaging Organization.
